A shadow speaks…

By | January 31, 2017

Why you are going away from me?

I have asked you the same question many a times. Is it due to my dark colour that you don’t mind me or is it due to my lengthening and shortening nature? But, from the heels up to the head I am like you, only like you, even while my shape is changed very often.

Whenever I try to reach you, you run away from me. You always keep me in sadness and laugh at me while I am in darkness. You never wanna save me from this dark world.

But why don’t you understand that if I was not there, you would have already been embraced by pure darkness? If I was not there, no one would have been with you as no one could see you. While I am there, there will be light upon your face.

You never know, that I am always with you. I could never leave you alone.

How could you keep your eyes shut upon me even while being a light lover? Will you switch off that dim light too, just to kill me?

No, you can’t do that, because that brightness was much dominant over your negligence upon me.  You never know that the brighter the lit, the closer I am to you. I will be there with you till you die. And no one else will be there with you from start to end.

This is the translated version of my yesterdays post ഒരു നിഴലിന്‍റെ ആത്മഗതം

Infact i was doubtful on whether readers can relate it to a shadow as i mentioned the same in the title only…your comment really satisfies me…

This is deep & beautifully crafted, yesterday i was just unable to decode the language as you haven’t taught me a single class on malyalam.
I relate this shadow as our confidence & will power that is always with us,its just we never realised the importance of its existence & when we realised we conquer every pinnacle of life.

Beautiful! Sometimes we try to become shadow of our loved ones too but it hurts when they abandon us without any warning or reason!

Wow Akhila. . Never thought about this. . Shadow’s perspective is very touching. Very well presented. Shadows are proof that we are alive. They never leave us in light and get inside us when in darkness. I will never put the lights off in my room. 😉 Finally got to know what our shadows thinks of us. Beautiful post. Creative!!

Have a great week ahead, Akhila. . 🙂

Akhila, I am a Malayalee, unfortunately, I do not read or write my mother tongue, having been brought up in another state. Thank you for the translations. The Shadow speaks takes a dimension that at least I have never thought about shadows. Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed reading your blog!

    So true, Akhila.
Whose shadow it is? Ours. Who try to evade it? We. Who descended along with us on Earth? Our shadow. Who will descend back to the other world with us? Our shadow. And yet we rely on others more than the only reliable support, our shadow. Nothing stupefying but basic human nature.
