Why not a little bit of emotions in your rational decisions?

By | February 20, 2018

There is no question if said “make decisions without emotions involved”. But can that really happen? Can a decision be taken using the brain alone?

Always a choice is finalized with an emotion even while being driven by logic, sometimes more reactive and some other times less reactive.  These responses are actually the subconscious choices.  So what’s actually wrong in obeying the subconscious mind as long as the choices are not purely driven by poor emotional conclusions alone?

Of course mistakes can happen with emotionally biased quick judgments. And hence if there is no immediate danger, don’t let your emotional brain to overrule the logical brain.

Similarly a pure logical decision can mislead us in a direction opposite to our self-interests. So why not keep a little bit of emotions [ but not any quick judgments] even while being driven by rational thoughts?

Never really thought about it! But yeah thinking straighforward and pure logical can lead to distortion in self-interests. Here I may take an example of A Judge of Justice making and giving decision on the basis of arguments presented. So yes I agree mixing a little bit of emotions in decision making.

    Nice post,
can we ask logic in any emotions? or is there any logic to every emotions? But emotions are brain centric and take birth in feel of experience or moment cherished at any instance in any form. I’m in confusion.

I do agree that we take decisions depending on emotions. In my view it is better to take decision by developing our consciousness where emotions have no role to play.

Can we attain a state like that, where emotions have no role to play…even then will that be fair to our own soul and mind
