“I just don’t have enough time” – A big white lie

“I just don’t have enough time” – A big white lie

It’s a big fat lie if you tell, “I just don’t have enough time”. [So what’s your state on time? – Finding time to do things or doing things to kill time?]

So something which I would love to share with you is

You can have enough space and time in your day, if you have a genuine will.

A matter of comfort and prioritization

It’s all a matter of comfort and prioritization for a healthy mind and body. Telling, ‘I don’t have time’ is in a way equivalent to telling, ‘It’s not important enough’.

I bet, you will be surprised if you start tracking your time for the next few days and understand your misplaced priorities.

Also have a little ‘me-time’ even while investing all of your energy on life priorities. Don’t be guilty of the time spent in solitude. It’s always worth it as can cherish your inner soul and thereby spread the warmth of energy all around you. [Read more to Break the routine]

Hobbies are not just leisure time activities

Hobbies are not a leisure time activity but something which everyone must do to ignite the self!

I get myself engaged in some research, studying, writing, reading, and of course gardening too.  And yes, occasionally my guitar also suffers from the attack of ten unmanageable fingers. ;). How about you..?

I feel more productive when I am busy. But it doesn’t mean that I never get overwhelmed. Of course I do when I lose that balance while craving for “a micrometer perfection” or stressing too much.

And yes I am trying to convince myself ‘being the best of me’ is the best rather than ‘being a perfectionist’!

Finally, getting enough sleep is one of my top priorities!!

  1. Yeah, don’t have time is an excuse to get rid away from the work or responsibility. Prioritizing the work is important and also finding some time for your hobby gives you satisfaction.
You rightly mentioned that solitude can enlighten and refresh oneself.
Very nice post Akhila on a general excuse given by many. Liked it.

  2. It’s about priority and how much you care about to allocate your time to the said task.. no one is busy it’s about the interest and priorities 🙂

      1. And Akki can you do an article on the following, i mean i would love to know how you articulate on the following.. Like people say “YOU HAVE CHANGED” but i dont feel wrong in it, we all change and evolve as human beings right? if someone is not changed then there is something wrong with that person. Whenever people point out that i have changed i feel blessed and i say yes glad i did, but they feel offended.. isn’t true that we all meant to be embrace changes ?

        1. Change is inevitable.. And as you said one cannot live forever unchanged.
I really feel honored as you asked me to write on the same. i will keep that in mind and will try on a day

  3. A very nice read, Akhila and yes I too agree totally with your words. I too would never ever like to be sitting idle but keep on doing or reading something or the other. Yes one has to have a me time too from all the chores. Nice post.

  4. I am dying here to get that 7-8 hours of sleep. I truly believe in that amount of sleep and I go crazy when I lose sleep 😀 it’s been more than a week now that I have been sleeping for 5 to 6 hours a day, sometimes even less.

  5. Getting enough sleep is one of my top priorities too. For me, time spent in solitude is sometimes most productive as it helps me to think and imagine. I agree with your point that not having enough time for something is but a lame lame excuse… 🙂

  6. Most people live in denial and make an excuse for not having enough time. We do waste time on gadgets and other unimportant things which we can use for other things and doing things that we love doing. We should take out time for relaxing too.

Do you have something to tell me on this post?
